Vacation Bible School 2025

Calling all young explorers!

This summer, your child is invited to take part in a one-of-a-kind Vacation Bible School experience — The Oceans Science Camp! Over four exciting days, kids ages 6-11 will dive deep into God’s Word while discovering the wonders of the ocean through age-appropriate science experiments, creative crafts, exciting games, themed snacks, fun music, and engaging Bible stories.

Each day explores a different branch of science — earth, social, life, and physical — all tied to Biblical truth:

• Day 1 – The Flood: See how God rescued Noah and preserved life through a worldwide flood. Kids will create an “Ocean in a Bottle” and simulate tsunamis to explore God’s control over the earth and water. They’ll also enjoy a hands-on snack that models plate tectonics using graham crackers, fruit roll-ups, and frosting. During game time, children will take on the role of Noah and the animals, playing memory and movement games that bring the ark story to life.

• Day 2 – Miraculous Catch: Witness how Jesus provided abundantly for His disciples and called them to be fishers of men. Children will investigate pollution in our oceans and play fishing games as they learn that Jesus still calls us to follow Him today. They’ll craft edible “sushi roll-ups” using Rice Krispie treats, fruit roll-ups, and gummy fish. Games will focus on teamwork and precision as kids “go fishing” with nets and rods for fun prizes — a reminder of the disciples’ miraculous catch.

• Day 3 – Jonah and the Whale: Follow Jonah’s journey of running from God and being given a second chance through God’s mercy. Kids will explore God’s amazing design in ocean creatures by experimenting with “blubber” and glow-in-the-dark sea life. The snack of the day features creative ocean creatures made from string cheese, wafers, frosting, and candy decorations. They’ll also dive into “Shark Attack,” a high-energy tag game that lets them dodge imaginary sharks and reflect on Jonah’s experience in the sea.

• Day 4 – Jesus Calms the Storm: Experience how Jesus calmed the wind and waves with just a word — proving His amazing power and presence even in life’s storms. Children will dive into hands-on lessons about floating and sinking as they build mini ships and learn about water’s hidden properties. They’ll enjoy “Under the Sea Cups,” a layered ocean-themed snack with Jell-O, whipped topping, and fish-shaped gummies. In the outdoor game “Catch That Fish!,” kids will race to retrieve hidden fish, echoing the disciples’ frantic moments on the stormy sea.

Each day starts and ends with devotionals and music focused on Jesus, and everything connects back to the message that our Savior is powerful, loving, and present in every part of our world—even the deepest seas! All activities (experiments, crafts, and even the snack) are centered around the day’s theme.
